2026 Academy Awards: 110+ Grads on Nominated Films

Full Sail grads worked on movies like Sinners, One Battle After Another, and Marty Supreme; two grads were also nominated for their own Oscars.

The film industry’s biggest night – the Academy Awards – is almost here, and Full Sail graduates were credited on nominated projects in categories like Best Picture, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound. In total, 112 Full Sail grads were credited on 20 Oscar-nominated projects in 21 categories at the 2026 Academy Awards – and two grads were nominated for their own Oscars.

Recording Arts grads and Hall of Fame inductees Gary A. Rizzo and Juan Peralta were both nominated for their own Oscars in the Best Sound category for their work as Re-recording Mixers on F1. The film was also nominated in the Best Visual Effects, Best Film Editing, and Best Picture categories.

Fifteen Full Sail grads worked on the vampire flick Sinners, which swept this year’s Oscar nominations with a record-breaking 16 nods in categories like Best Picture, Best Director, Best Visual Effects, and Best Cinematography. Grads Amir R. Khan (Key Second Assistant Director), Steffan Lones (Effects Supervisor), and Andrea Babineau (Assistant Location Manager) all helped bring the celebrated horror movie to life.

Additional Best Picture nominees had Full Sail grads in the credits. Andrew Prescott (Visual Effects Producer), Dwayne Coote (Rigging Programmer), and Judah Getz (ADR Mixer) all worked on One Battle After Another; grads like Nick Gardella (Production Assistant) and Michel Monty (Second-Second Assistant Director) helped out on Bugonia; and Derik Lee (Score Recording Engineer) and Stacy Rowe (Script Supervisor) were credited on Marty Supreme.

Three nominated movies in the Best Animated Feature Film category featured the work of Full Sail grads. Disney’s Zootopia 2 had 13 grads in the credits, including Kristy Miller Cotaya (Senior Software Engineer) and Thomas Rickert (First Assistant Editor). Grads Shane Bouthillier (Final Layout Artist), Kevin Froines (Re-recording Mix Technician), and Katherine Renee Jones (CG Supervisor) contributed to Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, while Pixar’s Elio got help from 10 grads, including Dee Selby (Foley Editor) and Kristifir Klein (Sets Modeling Artist).

Grads were also listed in the credits of nominated films like Frankenstein, Avatar: Fire and Ash, Jurassic World Rebirth, and more.
