Maintaining Eligibility
While attending Full Sail, students must maintain a status of Satisfactory Progress and meet specific credit-hour/weeks-of-instruction requirements in order to receive their financial aid.
Students not actively attending due to a Suspension, Termination or Withdrawal will not receive award disbursements. Students will not receive Federal Direct Loan disbursements (Stafford, Parent Plus, or Grad Plus) while on an Interruption of Training.

Financial Aid for Returning Students
Whether you're returning to complete your original program or pursuing a second degree, we’re here to help you move forward with clarity and confidence. Our Financial Aid team is available to guide you through your options and help you make informed decisions about funding your education.
Getting Started
If you previously borrowed federal student loans, it’s a good idea to check in on your loan status as you prepare to return.
We recommend contacting your federal loan servicer to:
- Confirm your loans are in good standing
- Review repayment plan options that may support your transition back to school
- Explore options such as deferment or forbearance, if applicable
Not sure who your loan servicer is? You can log in to your StudentAid.gov account and view your loan details under “My Loan Servicers,” or contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243.
Completing your FAFSA
- Step 1: Locate your existing Federal Student Aid ID
- Step 2: Complete the FAFSA
- Step 3: Graduates returning for a second degree, will need to complete the application. Students returning to complete their original enrollment will need to complete the Re-Entry Inquiry Form.
- Step 4: Admissions docs
Understanding Eligibility
In some cases, loan status may impact eligibility for additional federal student aid. If your loans are not currently in good standing, your servicer can walk you through available solutions.
For example:
- Loan rehabilitation may be an option to restore eligibility and resolve default status
- Additional repayment solutions may also be available depending on your situation
You can learn more at https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/default.
Returning to School
Full Sail University will report enrollment updates to the National Student Clearinghouse within 60 days of becoming Active and at least 60 days after any enrollment status change. If you are Active, enrolled at least half time, and your federal student loans are in good standing, you may qualify for an In School Deferment.
If you have questions regarding your previously borrowed federal student loans with Full Sail University, please contact the Student Loan Management Team at 855.374.3572. If you are enrolling in a new program, your Financial Aid Advisor can also assist with questions related to Financial Aid eligibility and available funding options.
