Independence Day Block Party Held on Campus
The event included a dunk tank, a blood drive, booths featuring various clubs and organizations, games, and a DJ.

The energy was high on July 3 as Full Sail University held an Independence Day Block Party led by the Veterans Association’s work-study students. The goal of the event was to create a space for students to make new friends, reconnect with old ones, and celebrate the country’s independence.
In the Military Student Success Center’s parking lot, a DJ cranked up the tunes as attendees enjoyed the sun and celebrated. The Leonard Brothers Band led karaoke and a dunk tank offered laughs as students attempted to submerge willing veterans. A blood drive gave attendees the opportunity to donate to help save lives, they also enjoyed hot dogs and Jeremiah’s Italian Ice while an array of games kept the good vibes going.
Clubs such as the Veteran Student Union, the Table Top Games Club, the International Student Union, and Frequency were represented, giving students a chance to join a group in line with their interests. Community organizations for student support were also present to offer students various resources they may need throughout their academic journey.
“I hope students walked away [from the block party] with a sense of camaraderie, a sense of belonging, and just knowing that they’re supported,” said Aaron Hall, Director of Military Student Success.
