The Foundations of Business Intelligence and Analytics course introduces students to the core concepts and practices of modern business intelligence and analytics. Students will explore data architecture fundamentals, including data warehousing, integration, and the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) process. Through real-world case studies, they will apply business intelligence, analytics, and artificial intelligence concepts to business challenges. The course introduces AI’s role in analytics, including basic data-mining techniques such as text and sentiment analysis, while emphasizing ethical and privacy considerations. Using Microsoft Power BI, students will analyze data, build visualizations and interactive dashboards, and communicate data-informed business insights.
