Full Sail’s Programs Achieve Gold and Silver Status with Unreal Engine
The game-focused and animation programs received this unique recognition.
Earlier this year, Full Sail University’s games and animation degree programs were recognized with special badges from Unreal Engine and Epic Games.
Through the Unreal Engine Academic Partner program, Full Sail’s game programs received a Gold badge, and animation was recognized with a Silver badge. In addition, three Full Sail instructors have been certified as Authorized Unreal Instructors, including Game Art course director Jonathan Lewis (Gold status), Game Design course director Miguel Molinari (Silver status), along with Game Design lab specialist Gynell Journigan (Silver status). Unreal Engine – an industry-standard, real-time 3D creation software – is incorporated into Full Sail’s Computer Animation, Game Art, and Game Design programs. Students begin using this software early in their studies and later develop advanced skills in shading, lighting, and virtual production techniques.
These Full Sail programs received this recognition for their experienced faculty, the innovative courses in the curriculum, state-of-the-art facilities and technology, and the high-quality work produced by students using the software.
About the Unreal Engine Academic Partner Program
The Unreal Engine Academic Partner program is designed to help institutions accelerate their Unreal Engine-focused courses as they prepare students for roles across the interactive 3D landscape. The partnership offers exclusive benefits, including software licenses, premium service subscriptions, co-marketing opportunities, and Marketplace credits for projects.
How the Partnership Benefits Full Sail Students
This partnership includes an upgrade to the ArtStation Pro license for students to showcase their projects online, Epic Marketplace credits, access to learning materials from Epic Games, and Test Teach Sessions in which Epic highlights the latest Unreal Engine courses. Students also get early access to information on internships and hiring events as well as opportunities to collaborate with Epic on special projects.
