Two-Time Full Sail Grad Works in Public Affairs for the Army
Anjelica Asejo graduated with her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Full Sail and now uses her skills in the Army.

“I always thought that communication is a form of art,” says Anjelica “Anjel” Asejo, Full Sail University grad, storytelling enthusiast, and Public Affairs Specialist in the Army.
Anjel has always loved everything creative – from photography and visual art to music and storytelling – and pursuing her degree in Media Communications felt like a great way to combine these and build a fulfilling career for herself. She chose Full Sail University’s online program so she could work as well as study. When she graduated in 2020, she was able to travel to Orlando and proudly walk across the stage to accept her diploma. Soon after, she also earned her master’s in Public Relations from Full Sail, completing it in 2021.
Later that year, something happened that would change the course of Anjel’s life: Her father passed away unexpectedly after serving in the Army for 20 years. To honor her dad, she decided to join the Army and follow in his footsteps.
After basic training, Anjel launched her military career working in media communications in South Korea. One notable project she did was highlighting a local program that helps support overseas military members and their families. Anjel interviewed staff and created a video for her unit’s Instagram page to spread awareness about the program.
After spending a year in South Korea, Anjel was assigned a new role in the US, where she’s worked for the past year. She’s stationed in Arizona with the 10th Mountain Division as a Public Affairs Specialist, where she uses her creative skills to manage the social media account for the division, taking Army jargon and communicating it in a way her audience can easily grasp.
Anjel writes articles, takes and edits photos, makes videos, does graphic design, and more; she even created the logo for her task force that appears on various flags and banners, making her proud every time she sees it.
“I am definitely proud,” says Anjel, “and I tell everybody, ‘I love my job.’ It gets stressful, obviously, but I love my job. I wouldn't trade it for anything else.”
Anjel is grateful for everything she learned at Full Sail that has propelled her forward in her career, and she loves what she gets to do in the Army, honoring her dad along the way.
“Full Sail gave me the tools, the voice, and the confidence to create with purpose. The Army gave me the structure, the growth, and the mission. Together, it taught me that purpose doesn’t always come from the plan – it comes from how you choose to rise when everything changes.
“For future students who would want to pursue a similar career, honestly, you just have to put your heart into it. If this is what you want and know where you want to go…there's nothing you can't push through. Have that belief in yourself and say, ‘Yeah, I got this.’”
