On September 24, the American Cancer Society (ACS) hosted an event at the Full Sail Live venue to kick off their upcoming Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, scheduled for October 25 at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando.

With Full Sail’s live event and student event crews working together, the venue was decked out in pink decorations, pink lights, and energetic music as attendees gathered to hear from keynote speakers from AdventHealth, play bingo, eat good food, and celebrate cancer survivors. In one corner of the venue, a giant pink inflatable chair from Healthcare Trust of America was available for people to pose with, and in another corner was a flower bar from Orlando Health Cancer Institute for attendees to grab a bouquet of fresh flowers. Carrabba's Italian Grill catered the event and Starbucks provided their signature pink drink.

“It was a time for survivors, caregivers, and anyone that's been affected by breast cancer to come together in one space, to just celebrate with one another, connect, network, and hug,” said Daisy Concepcion, the Senior Development Manager for the American Cancer Society. “I want everyone to feel excited for the season, feel excited for the walk, know that they're supported, know that they're not alone, and that they have a community of women who've walked the same journey with them.”
