The Full Sail University Pride Club recently celebrated the LGBTQIA+ community with an afternoon dance party on Full Sail’s campus, followed by participation in downtown Orlando’s 2024 Come Out With Pride Festival & Parade. The annual non-profit festival celebrates National Coming Out Day and honors the local LGBTQIA+ community.

To kick off the celebratory weekend, the Pride Club, in collaboration with several other Full Sail campus clubs, hosted a fun afternoon of dancing, snacks, and performances from several talented Full Sail students. Then, on Saturday, Full Sail students, faculty, and staff came out to Lake Eola and walked in the 2024 Come Out With Pride parade together in matching university-branded t-shirts, dancing along to music and passing out Full Sail swag.

"Pride is a celebration of my community, identity, and my ability to live my authentic life,” says Jen West, an Events Management Specialist with Full Sail’s Staff & Cultural Development department. “Having Full Sail participate in the parade means so much—not just to me, but to the faculty, staff, students, and alumni who share in this journey of authenticity, along with our allies who support us. Full Sail's visibility at the parade demonstrates a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging for all."

The 2024 parade brought out more than 230,000 guests from around Central Florida and featured support from upwards of 200 participating organizations and businesses.
